Peace Patrol

Camden was selected for Peace Patrol this week at his school. As Peace Patrol guy he was supposed to try and help resolve conflicts that arise with Kindergartner's on the playground. Well, the only conflict that Camden got in on was between two girls that were arguing over who liked another girl more. Yikes...it starts that early? :-) Anyway, Camden was so excited and proud to wear the sash. It was too cute!

Thanksgiving in Phoenix

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and weekend in Phoenix. We had the opportunity to see a little of both sides of the family. On Thanksgiving day we ate way to much with my brother, Jason, Terry & family and brother Jeff & nephew, Conner along with my Sister-In-Law, Terry's family. We also celebrated my niece, Casey's birthday. A great time was had by all. Later in the day my brother John, Marcia & family joined us for yet more eating.

On Friday, we met up with Mom Tarico, Doug's brother, Dan, Doug's sister, Kathy and her kiddo's Matthew, Mark & Marissa. We ate dinner and went to see the zoo lights at the Phoenix Zoo. It was quite impressive and so much fun! It truly put our local zoo lights to shame. They even have a new exhibit where you can pet stingrays and sharks. The kids really dug that!

Besides that most of the in between time (thanks to Jason & Terry watching Camden) was spent shopping and of course more eating. Where we live there is not a lot of "good" shopping so when we get to Phoenix that is usually high on the priority list (well at least mine!). This time Doug was game as well as we are on the search for some new living room furniture. No decisions were made though. Furniture shopping is so stressful! Why...do you ask? Well, because Doug is going to make me keep this furniture till I am dead! :-)

Here's a few pictures from our weekend:

My niece, Lauren doing a little lounging of her own.

Casey & Camden doing one of Cam's favorite things...driving "the truck".

Malory & Conner doing a little scootering.

Camden's most favorite thing to do up in Phoenix is to just be with all his cousins. He just loves them!

Stud

My brother Jason and his daughter Malory came down from Phoenix this past weekend so he could ride in the 109-mile El Tour De Tucson bike race. We had so much fun racing around town and cheering him on! We hadn't planned to race around town but because he was so darn fast we had a hard time getting ahead of him. We made it to our first cheering spot just a mere 30 seconds before Jason got there. Because we thought that went far to fast we had the bright idea to try and catch him at one more spot before heading to the finish line. But we ended up going across town and getting there only about a minute before he did. So then we got some quick food in the kiddo's and then raced to the finish. Since Jason was hauling butt we were going to have a hard time beating him there. Well, we made it but with only two minutes to spare. My brother, who will turn 45 next month rode in his first bike race and finished with a time of 5 hours and 17 minutes. He placed 668 out of almost 6,000 riders. Pretty cool, huh? He is such a stud!

The easily spotted cheering section.

Favorite Foto Friday

Here's Camden celebrating his first Thanksgiving just six years ago. He was just two months old. Isn't he cute? That outfit was one of my favorite ones to dress him in. I just loved funny little hats. Something tells me Camden is going to be a little embarrassed by it in the future. Oh well...what are Mothers for? Didn't all mothers dress their kids funny? I know my Mom did! :)

Weekend Fun with Dad

Camden loves to "help" Dad wash the car. It's so cute! I wonder if he will still love it when he is 16? Well, we can hope!

The Latest

Unfortunately, the CCAA did not get as far as we hoped this month. They matched just eight days of LID's in the month of October. What does this mean for us? It means that most likely we will wait yet another year to bring our daughter home. Unbelievable!

Field Trip to the Arizona State Museum

Today I helped out on a field trip with Camden's class to the Arizona State Museum. They have been studying a bit about Mexico and Day of the Dead so they went to see some of the carved masks. I enjoyed it as I have a thing for masks as many of you know. The kids seemed to enjoy it as well. Although they seemed equally excited to be able to roll down the hill outside the museum.
