Awana Grand Prix

Our Awana held their annual Grand Prix tonight. Everybody really enjoyed it although I think Dad was a little tired. What was supposed to be a great "little" Father & Son project turned into a late night fix it project because the wood kept splitting. Camden did help out with a little sanding, spray painting, sticker selection and affixing. But where was he at 1 am when Dad was trying to bring it home??? Sound asleep! How come these "little" projects always seem to turn out this way? :)

Here are a few pics from the evening:

They received 2nd place for car design. You can't tell from the picture but he was very excited!

Fathers & Kids Camp Out

Doug and Camden headed to Peppersauce Canyon for a Fathers & kids camp out this past weekend with friends from church. To be honest I don't know who was looking forward to it more me or them. This would be the second time since Camden was born that I had the house to myself for the weekend. Don't get me wrong I love - love - love my boys and we love doing things as a family. But a weekend of chick flicks and projects around the house...that sounded magical! The Dads and kids did have a great time camping and going on hikes. One of which took them to a beaver's den and I enjoyed organizing photos and even getting some of them into albums.

Good Friends & Models!

Our good friends, the Lowell Family are quite an inspiration. They feel strongly in being active in the community. Shari has been active in a Angel Charity for more than 10 years. It is a wonderful charity that seeks to improve the lives of children in the community. They have raised money for numerous charities such as Ronald McDonald House, Make-A-Wish Foundation and Big Brothers and Big Sisters. This weekend they held their annual Children's fashion show. It really is great fun to attend. But this year was even more fun as their sweet boys, Rob & Ted were apart of it as well. They did a great job!

These boys are terrific and Camden just adores them!

Spring Fling Fun

Today we joined some friends at Spring Fling which is a carnival to raise money for our local university. It's so sad...I used to love these kind of things. I have many wonderful memories of my Dad taking me to the state fair and going on all sorts of rides (while he watched of course) and playing all those rip off fair games until I won something (yes, I was very spoiled!) . In fact I got my first Captain & Tennille RECORD there. :) Yep, that really dates me I know! Anyway, I used to be able to ride everything...roller coasters, the Zipper, Tilt-a-Whirl and nothing ever affected me....not even after I ate Indian fry Bread and cotton candy. Not so any more! I think I could have almost tossed my cookies on this dragon ride the boys wanted to continue to go on. And I made the mistake of going on the Tilt-A-Whirl a second time after eating. Let's just say I won't make that mistake again!
It was still fun to go with Friends. I now just know my limits! :(
Here is Camden enjoying some of the rides with one of his best buddies, Connor:

Crazy Week

This week was spirit week at Camden's school. Each day was a different theme.

This day was crazy hair day:

Crazy hat day:

Clashin' Fashion Day:

Camden had so much fun with the different themes. One of the other days was career day. The kids were supposed to dress up in a career that they will one day be. Your probably wondering did he dress up as a Doctor? Lawyer? Engineer? Nope...a professional basketball player.

Nice Words

It was so cute the other night when Camden was taking his bath. He decided he wanted to think of as many "nice words" as possible and write them in his drawing. Do our kids have the ability to melt our hearts or what???
