General Pete explores Beijing some more

A pedal boat ride in Beihai park. Doug got all sweaty (more than usual). Pete wasn't any help, he couldn't reach the pedals.

Pete made a local friend outside Forbidden City. We came across some Chinese guys who were taking pictures of their own little travel companion. We just had to get a photo together, it was very funny. I predict that the USA and China will magically become allies now.

Making a new friend for Pete reminded Camden that Pete had an old friend tucked away in our bag. They're about to storm the Forbidden City. Pete said "Forbidden - my finarkis, I'm going in, cover me !"

Pete made it inside Forbidden City. He's confused, nobody put up a fight, and there's already about a million people inside. He still says "Forbidden - my finarkis!"

Venturing forth "tour group style" on a bus. Pete's not sure what to make of this, it's a strange new kind of land speeder filled with white people.

Pete liked this silk loom, or whtever the heck it's called. It takes little strands of silk from the little silk cocoons and combines 8 of them to make a silk thread. It's a bit antiquated, but he thinks it can be reengineered to serve the sinister purposes of the Galactic Empire.
